The M43 is the ambulance. I suspect you mean the M42/37. The M42 is the command truck version of the M37. The military produced a kit to convert any M37 to the command version. All the M42 stuff was supposed to be removed at the end of usage but some did slip through the cracks. The quickest way to tell them is look in the engine compartment. The M42 had double pulleys and double belts the M37 has single pulleys and belts.
