A buddy of mine goes the extra mile when balancing. He first put the rim on the machine and marks the heavy side. Then he mounts the tire and if the heavy spot is in the same spot he demounts the tire and spins it accordingly to get as few weights as possible. He said some of the heavier mud tires are made so far out of round that they have to be shaved to be true. He also said buying tires from mail order without the rims and balancing "can" mean you get the ones that couldn't be balanced or are out of round. Kevin
