Last part out, first part in is a fat, flat, square section O-ring. Then, the check valve, with the convex side to the spring,(usually sticks into the spring) concave side in against the fat o-ring. Then the cup, concave side to spring/front.

Are both of the holes in the reservoir clear? Did you lube on re-assembly? Use brake fluid or the little squeeze bulb of thicker gel stuff that comes in the kits.

Sometimes they are hard to get a suction started. I usually 'bench bleed' them before installation- fill with fluid, push the piston with a phillips screwdriver while holding a finger on the outlet. The finger acts as a check valve. It will spray fluid alloverthedamnplace, don't get any in your eyes.

Ty compressed air in the filler hole?
