Did you pay attention to the Delphi debacle, wherein GM was apying $90 per hour for union labor, what with pensions, etc? Some GM assemblers make $100,000/year. The furrin companies open new plants, and pay a good local wage, without mortgaging their futures to the UAW. The leaves Toyota et al lots of money to spend on better plastics, better engineering, yada yada. All you have to do to see this is tour the junkyards. The 10 year old Toyotas, Mazdas, all have better interiors than the US makes. Worn, rotted, shrunken,cracked....

And they are pretty much ALL american cars. What with Jeeps from Mexico, Toyatas made in Tennessee, MB's in Loiusiana,

But then, I'm in San Diego. Lots of furrin cars here. We have the Oldest Datsun Dealer, across the street from the First Toyota Dealer, in the USA. Not just VW's. We have loved Asians long time. No chit.
