Dwight, I'm assuming that you do not have the Tool of Choice, a Steering Wheel Puller/Pulley Removal Kit. Here is a fast and inexpensive way to do it. Tools required: 2 People, Brass Drift and Ball Peen Hammer waying several pounds. Loosen the steering wheel nut but do not take it off. You want to have it flush or a little below the top of the shaft that the steering wheel attaches to. After you have done that, have your helper get in the vehicle. Have your helper pull evenly on both sides of the steering wheel. As he is doing this you need to take the Brass Drift and place it Dead Center on the Shaft and hit it with the ball Peen Hammer One or more times. Careful not to hit your buddy in the face with the hammer. He may be bigger than you and once he comes to, he may open up a can of Whoop-Ass! Usually the wheel will break free at this point. Leaving the nut partially on helps to prevent your helper from eating the wheel when it breaks free and chase the threads of the shaft when you take the nut off. Good Luck!
