One of the best 360's is the 71' car motor. This year has a 255 hp & 360 ft#'s spec. Serial # ID will be 360-3260-xxxx & 360-3624-xxxx. All 360's have cast cranks with larger mains & they also take a different block & pan. Intake and exhaust manifolds will interchange with 318 LA (non polyhead). Flywheel needs to be balanced for 360 crank (most shops can do this, as they have drilling patterns w/o taking engine apart). Hookup to trans/bellhousing should be no problem. I have installed 2 different 360's in PW's this past year. One in a '66 TW PW & one in an M37. If you want HP there is no substitute for cu.in. Most bang for buck and there are lots out there. Both engines perform very good and neither was a '71.
