Steve makes an interesting point. If you have a way of getting a fuel pressure gauge to put in the fuel line and check fuel pressure, then that would be the place to start first. I do not know the specs. for that vehicle, but perhaps someone else can post them here. I suspect that it is in the 5 to 7 PSI range or there abouts. If the output pressure of the fuel pump is too high, you can install an after market adjustable fuel pressure regulator in between the fuel pump and the carb. These usually work pretty good and can be bought at most Speed Shops. That would be the cheapest and easiest way to go, if in fact that is what is wrong with it.
