The frame is rarely what is wrong with 1/2 tonners. Usually it is a lack of good, rust and damage free, sheetmetal.

Having said that, my 41 pickup frame is broken in four places and has severe rust on the crossmembers. I was GIVEN a command car frame, complete with axles, transfer, drivelines, tires/wheels and (oddly) an International 6-cyl engine. But as far as prices go, I've seen chassis like this running a couple hundred bucks or so. More with a decent engine (not exposed to the weather). A lot more if it fires up and drives. The axles have some value, particularly the pumpkins, as do the brake drums. The 14" command car drums are quite rare, and are definitely worth grabbing. And there is some value in having a spare transfer case laying around. The steering wheel are another sorely needed part, as is the front bumper.

So, if you can get them for a decent price, do so. Then advertise them so if someone has a bad frame, you can help. Otherwise, recycle all the bolt-ons and scrap the rest. Or make a trailer out of it by cutting and v-ing the frame. Those are actually 1-ton commercial axles, in case you didn't know.

BTW, if you do pick up these frame, I need good running board brackets. Both sides (two one each side). They are riveted on with large rivets and need to be torched off from the inside of the frame.
