The difference is that the military cab (41 and early 42) has a sloping lip where the hood lays on it. The civilian cab has a horizontal lip.
Other differences are the military cab has no gas tank hole in it, windshield operating mechanism differences, and no cowl lights.
If you are doing a resto this is important to know. if you are just slapping a truck together, no big deal.
