I have a 1941 WC.

I had planned to put in a 318 and a short tailshaft 727 trans. The transfer case will need to be moved back a bit, so you'll need to lay extra plate over the existing transfer case crossmember. You'll need to shorten one driveline and then add the sectioned piece into the other to lengthen it.

The cleanest route, and the one Ray Suiter recommends, is to get a 318 and a trans with a married transfer case and get rid of the original single speed transfer case. I'm considering this, but have not made a decision.

Ray has done a prototype for a WDX V-8 conversion kit, and he is working on one for an M37 (and I am nagging him for the 2nd kit). He said that a 1941 type would be forthcoming at some point.

Visit Ray's site for info.
