The front fender/splash shield anti-squeak material is not the same as welt; it's just a flat fabric material about the thickness of canvass. The Filler (between fender/cab) is about a 1/2 dia. vinyl covered foam or cord that gets riveted to the fender using split oval head 9/64 dia. by 7/16 lgh. rivets. The filler is anchored by rivets starting at the joint where the fender/shield meet, going all the way down the fender. In place of the filler you can also use the “T” rubber used on Military trucks. Although the “T” rubber is not original to the PW, it does result in less wear on the cab’s paint and produces a tight seal.
