I usually refrain from ranting. I usually read other peoples rants, either until I tire of them or until I've finished. I will have to make another contribution to Joe for this possible infringement on space.
In Dec. '06 I ordered wheels and tires from USA6x6 for my '69 W500. I was told 4-6 weeks and they ended up taking 8 weeks. To top it off they sat on their loading dock for a week, people stepping around them, everyone aware they were there except the salesman/owner of the place, who thought they had been shipped. I ordered them with powder coating. A week after they were on my truck, they started to rust over the entire surface. Corresponednce with the owner, containing demands that they at least re-imburse for the cost of powder coating, resulting in his confession that they had not been powder coated, but spray-painted. This admission was followed at least by the fact that I had, in fact, not been charged for powder coating. They said because they were running behind they decided not to powder coat because it would take another week. So it cost me $150 to have the wheels mounted and balanced, another $100 to have them taken down and sent to be powder coated, $150 for the powder coating and another $150 to have them re-mounted and balanced. All of this hassel and never an apology until the very end, when it was revealed that they had not been powder coated. Ah, yes, AND, the OWNER suggested that I could just re-spray paint over the rusty surface, that doing this periodically would make the wheels look just fine. GRRRRRRRR
