I've heard similar stories from my in-laws(Silt/Rifle) about the previous oil boom over there. It'll bust at some point and they'll move on to somewhere else. It helps to think of all the money that they're spending in your town, like with your buddy's shop, and that it won't last forever like in small mountain towns that get 'discovered'.
