There are good pictures, in the open of the 4BTA. Also on a 4B series Cummins the Data plate is riveted on the front left corner of the timing case cover. It will give 4B Type ie; 4B non aspirated (you dont want it), 4BT Turbo or 4BTA Turbo Aftercooled. Never buy a engine without the data plate as you have no way to identify it. The Data Plaet has the CPL )control parts list) that describe exactly what the engine is. Also never buy a engine that was used on stationary power such as a Generator, pump, power unit for a sweeper etc. Get the CPL Number and I can look it up in my Shop manual and tell you what your lookign at.
