Got back from the Texas Power Wagon Reunion last night. I just finished updating my Musuem web site with the Reunion report.

I have never seen a 22 ply tire in light or medium truck street-legal service. There is no reference to 22 ply tires in any of my reference materials. The largest tire listed in my B-1 Shop Manual is 11 x 20, 12 ply.

I have an unmounted 9.00 x 16 directional tread that was shown in the earliest pictures of the 3/4 ton WC Dodges. It was the spare that came with one of my WC63's. When it stops pouring rain I'll go to the barn and look at it. My WC51/51 TM and WC62/63 Technical Manuals both say 8 ply, 9.00x16 tires.

I think the most correct question is, "What are all the tires someone might manage to mount on a 3/4 ton WC Dodge combat wheel (assumed - information not provided) while totally ignoring fitment and safety issues?"

The design of the combat wheel suggests that any tire ever made in a 16" bead diameter and reasonably compatible cross section could be clamped on that rim. This possibility is increased if a serviceable bead lock ring is available and used.

Over on the PWA Forum, Norm has been searching for a way to trim vegetation from some remotely located land. We all assumed he meant clearing, not harvesting - and weedS, not weed, - and grass of the pasture variety. Maybe he had been on his remotely located land when he thought he saw that he had 22 ply tires.
