TRANSMISSION QUESTION-1985 D-350

hey guys. anybody know if a later(2wd) 5-speed dodge trans. will fit in my 1985 D-350? It currently has the opriginal 4-speed NP--- I am not sure which year they started making the 5-speed, but I think it was 1987. any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jason
