I E-mailed the seller and they gave me the engine number of v133816692
I take that to be VT338-16692 which in a C-3 truck is a 260ci engine that should be in a C-3-D8 or a 2wd 1 ton.
During 1954-56 sometimes the 1 ton engines found their way into 1/2 tons, so it may be the original engine, but it is not a 315.
One more reason to doubt the claims.
