A dually is the way to go. There is soooooo much more stability and the rating of the rear axles is much better. Additionally the GVWR goes up and they have larger brakes and etc.

Also the max tire rating available for tires is close to 3500# so a single rear axle regardless of rating is limited to about 7000 lbs. My father kept loosing rear tires on his single rear axle (bubbling seperation). I put his truck on a scale and he had 6800# on the rear axle with his camper on. With a dually you will have over 12,000 # of tire carrying capacity with means less tire failure due to each tire carrying much less than its max capacity. The axle rating becomes the limiting factor not the tires.
