Chain Binder question

I bought a set of ratchet chain binders from a seller on ebay. They were listed as "Dixie" load binders. When they arrived, they say "made in China" on the handle. My impression is that Dixie is an American company, making their binders in the US. Is "Dixie" also a generic term for a load binder, like kleenex and sheetrock?
