I am with you on this one Marty.
I got turned off on the muscle car scene years ago because of all the numbers bs.
I had a 1969 426 hemi engine, used the VIN to track down the original Charger RT in IOWA, and tried to make a deal with the owner - FOR OVER TEN YEARS....
The fool was more interested in the original trans, because, according to him the car would not truly be numbers matching without the trans. He would not buy the engine or sell the car, IDIOT.
I am sure he regrets it now, with todays market. How can you tell if an engine is numbers matching in a PW if the partial VIN sequence is not on the block anyhow?
