And when film cameras came out, the "real" photographers said that film could never impart the depth and nuance of a glass plate in a view camera. Darius Kinsey's famous logging pictures were all made on glass plates with view cameras, and he got amazing detail and depth of field even deep in the woods where the light was dim. You really have to seem them as properly printed photographs to appreciate them. On a computer, they lose all the resolution and end up being "digital".
