Hi Keith,
I broke a front axle on my truck once, My snowplow had sunken into the ice and frozen. I figured I could just bull ahead and pop it free. What popped was my axle. I didnt realise it at first and started driving and quickly realised my wheel was not moving. When I tool it apart, the axle was snapped right in the bronze bushing, but the Tracta pieces were all bound up in the ball. There were lots of scars inside the ball, maybe I made all of them maybe this had happened before. Who knows!
Now if the plow is frozen in a good kick to the top of the plow will break it free. Lots easier than an axle replacement.
