Wanted to post this message and it will be my last on the topic of our earlier cussing and discussing.

I called a good friend of mine that is a lawyer and currently a county attorney. I spoke with him about the various things we talked about and wanted to relay what he said.

Taking a vin/serial #/title from one vehicle and putting it on another vehicle is illegal as hell. Anyone caught doing this is in big trouble.

Here is where I stand corrected by my friend with your situation.

Selling frames with vin/serial #/ or title is a gray area depending on the state.

SOME STATES will consider a vehicle still legal and good to go by simply having a title and or VIN/Serial # tag that can be matched and proven to a frame. Tag matchs a frame # and its good to go. If you had a title thats better yet if not you could then apply for whats called a "quiet title" With just the vin tag and frame and get the paper title.

So your frames for sale with serial tags are still considered trucks and legal in some states.

Other states will not consider it to be a legit vehicle anymore. Scrapped/parted out vehicles Legal term would be salvaged are no longer a legit vehicle when they can no longer be recognized as to what they were.

So we are both right and we are both wrong depending on the state we are in. Hope that clears things up.

Todd
