I went thru this some time ago when I was trying to fit my 318 into the truck.If your using a stock 230 radiator you can gain 3 inches by turning the radiator mounts around, then turn the top tank around to get the radiator offset the other way.Then the filler neck comes out in the right spot. The radiator fits well behind the grill too without extensions. I think the 251 radiators have the right offset so the core is farther from the motor. It's a little hard to explain but it does work. Paul or some others here might be able to explain it better.
