mseries rebuild - charles talbert often talks about new oils vs old in the m37 page. if i recall there is an issue with some lubricants not having a protectant for brass parts or some lubes having an acidic effect. id contact him as he is up on lubricants and has data at his disposal. i did disc brake wheel grease in my knuckles and have power steering in the command. before i had the ps in the command and m37 i ran 130 weight and it was a fill and forget type of deal. the cases leaked a bit but that was ok on my driver type trucks as long as the box wasnt empty. could it be some wierd type of electrolsis caused by the wrong lube and the dissimilar metals in the box. i dont think the wire running through for the horn would carry any current and if it did it would manifest itself as a sounding horn or short - no? id call charles. mannyc
