Thanks for passing that along. I think a lot of guys would be willing to pay more for tools if they knew that parts would be available for the next 20 years and they could call and talk to a real person who understood not only English but also understands the way the tools work.

Sometimes it seems like the tool choices these days are either cheap off-brand stuff made in China with no parts or service, or the same cheap stuff with the same no parts or service, but with an "American" label stuck on it and twice the price. I think it's great to have cheap tools for those who don't need them to last very long or to have for "extras" rattling around in the truck or out at the cabin or wherever, but it's be nice to have the option of buying something that runs smooth and quiet and will be repairable for the rest of your life.

But at this point, I'd be a big improvement if they'd just do away with the call centers. Not only do the employees not speak or understand English very well, and they don't know anything about the product except what it says in the script on their computer, a lot of them use some sort of el-cheapo phone system where there are wierd delays and dropouts that make it so you end up both talking at the same time as often as not.
