I'd have to agree... unless you are in fact - "restoring" a car.
Several years ago I read an article in "Car Craft" and they were talking about the Earl Schreib/Maaco places and basically you're paying them to - spray the paint. That's it. The prep work is the hard part, if you do most of it yourself, you can save them time and get a better job. Case-in-point: they will mask-off your side-marker lights and bumpers. You can take them OFF before you take the vehicle to them! You can spend time rough sanding the tight spots they may overlook or not spend a lot of time on. Simple stuff and then for a couple hundred bucks pay them to shoot it.
Or take it to Paul in NY, he'll do it for you...
