yeah, I am having the heads checked at a local shop and should know what the status is tomorrow. I am really only going to be using this motor for moving the truck around the property, so for now, I am just doing the basics, and what I can afford! the timing chain will also be needing to be replaced but, I believe I have a good one on the other engine. is it ok to use it if it's already been installed once? I believe it is a brand new chain, as it is very tight. I have not removed the cover to have a better look YET, but soon. I will also be replacing the oil pan gasket, so that will be a perfect time to look for the missing push rod! hopefully it didn't make the trip down to the crankcase! but, we'll see! this stuff is sure a lot easier because of the motor being out, and on a stand, so, maybe it wasn't a total waste of time to remove it!
