I pulled the heads on the polysphere today...........not good. I have never seen such atrocity. it looked like someone had poured sand down the cylinders and let it rust. the valves on two cylinders were rusted beyond recognition.......ugh, out comes the engine! I took a look at the old engine and figured out why it was having so many issues! People, adjust your valves! I had never done that on it before because I have really not used the truck much, so it was kind of on the to-do list, well, someone had not installed a push rod, another one was BROKEN inside the engine, and two others were bent!! oh, and the heads were reversed. all on the problem side of the engine.......go figure huh? I believe I can fix the old engine, the heads looked like they were in great shape, no rust, no real problems, and I have good push rods. the engine maybe well used, but I bet she won't smoke when I put it back together now! you should have seen the horrible carbon buildup, especially in the head/intake manifold in one passageway! seems that there were quite a few problems on that one side, I believe most of the trouble started when the valve tappet crushed the push rod, because it was so out of adjustment. It also looked like the intake wasn't sealed well. THIS ENGINE WAS RUNNING LIKE THIS! GO DODGE! that is one tough motor. if someone can tell me how to post a pic, i'll show you all. I couldn't get it to link to my photo page last time.

Peace, Jason
