I used to haul for many guys, like Lee, Doug H, Dave Butler, Wally, I have even hauled a TW ot two for PowerWagonJohn, and many many many others.
But I don't haul right now. I would if I had a newer truck and trailer again, and people would not mind paying the higher shipping costs now that fuel is high. When I was doing it I used to raise HELL when I saw fuel at a $1.35 a gallon. Just wish that was the case now. It just went up to $3.15 here a few days ago.
I loved being on the open road, in different state every day, not getting a shower for three days or so days, sleeping in your truck every night, even sometimes outside of the dealship to get parts in the morning hoping the parts guy got your order right and you didn't have to sleep a second night to wait for parts again (happended a few times). Never knowing if your wife was going to be home when you got there because you had not been home in three weeks or more and she was now pissed off and had her own place! Yeah I really miss it, I really do!! I think it the open road and the new people you might along the way.
Like a coulpe of guys under a PW on my trailer one night at 3 a.m. at a truck stop in Tx, I went in to pay for fuel and came out got in my truck, looked out my mirror before I left and see two sets of legs hanging off my trailer. I got out and went back to see what was going on, there they were two guys under the PW looking at how the pto winch worked, telling my how Grand Dad had one just like it....
