If you have built a motor before, can follow the manual, have the proper tools and feel comfortable with doing it, it can be the most economical way to go. Machining is not that expensive, if, you do the grunt work, tear down everything, disassemble and box it up and take it to your machinist.
STEP ONE:
Talk to your machinist and find out how and what he needs as far as parts, how far you need to take it apart, how he wants the parts sorted etc. That will put you on the right path. Talk over with him exactly what you need and don't need in the way of machining and assembly, then have him quote based upon those criteria.
