I use Sawzall blades all the time to cut heavy pipe if I can't use a torch, so I'm sure they'd work fine on a frame. One thing that really helps is if you remember you're using a steel cutter to cut steel and you treat it like you would a drill bit or end mill. That is, put some cutting oil, or even a small stream of water on it. It works wonders. Cuts way faster and makes the blade last a lot longer. Milwaukie blades are the best, but even they will get ruined in short order if you let them get too hot by running them too fast or without enough pressure to cut. A sawzall is perfectly capable of running them fast enough to throw sparks, which is definitely a bad thing with saw blades. When you get a sharp new blade, and you're cutting a heavy section, try some oil on it (cutting oil is good, but any oil is better than nothing) and you'll be amazed at how much better it works.
