And concerning the ignition, The switch is an aftermarket with Ign., Batt., ACC., and start in center. It has been my assumption that in start position, 12 V is delivered to coil and solenoid. In run position, 12 V is delivered to coil only. In factory set up, 12V is necessary to start, +,- 8 V to run, which is why ballast resistor is installed. My coil states "no external resistor neccessay". I have always used this type and everything worked fine.
