put a pertronix in the stock dist and put their matching coil in without a ballast. i did it on my m37, 360 and avoided the bs with the points, condenser, box, wiring harness etc. run all new wires to the whole ignition circuit using crimp connectors with the shrink tube ends (anchor marine brand)and you will be fine. the points and condenser ignitions work, but the parts are made cheaply now and dont last too long.
