Hi Chris,
The front drive flanges have the same tapped holes as the rear plates. I wonder how many of these bolts came with the truck whan new, 2 that you just move to where ever you need them, or one in each hole. As you say, many of us are not running the front drive flanges, but if I was, I would fill the holes with these screws just to keep the holes clean.
