Ya might want to look into this as a pre primer (although they state it can be used AS A PRIMER). You can brush or spray it on in those areas that Paul recommended to leave bare.

So far, after 10 months of exposure, the parts I used it on show NO return of rust, BUT, in all honesty, these parts are just sitting outside, and DO NOT go thru the rigors of daliy or even PT driving (yet), which can add to the rust problem.

At $40.00 a gallon, it's a decent price. I used to use the Rustoleum Brand rust convertor religiously on my Jeep, but that stuff is quite pricey, and at the time, I didn't have to pay for it.

So far, I have used it on every part that I have done on the Beast. Apply it, then primer, then paint. I common mistake that most make is that they think most primers are a sealer. NOT SO! You have to get a primer/sealer for that.
