Sounds like I need to sand, not strip,

Thanks to all for the advice.

Other than three small rust spots on top of the cab and a couple deep scratches, there is no rust on the truck.

I believe I can figure out how to fill and feather out the scratches and rust spots to avoid stripping the whole cab.

What works best, a small right angle type grinder (I call it a side grinder) or a palm type orbital sander for sanding? I have a huge side grinder but plan to buy something smaller for this job. What is a DA?
