What vehicle are you towing with? My 1993 CTD has an auto with a tranmission cooler under the pickup box. It has a fan that comes on when the transmission gets to a certain heat. A key factor is obviously heat, when loaded you don't have to be the first to the top of the hill, you just need to get there. I pull heavy loads from time to time. Take your time and have the right equipment.
