The 1969 chargers looked aerodynamic but were not, the temporary solution was to use the front grille out of a coronet to make the air flow better in the front and plug the rear window. The original 69 charger grille and rear window area were a huge air trap. Chrysler may have looked at the ford torino of the same year for a fix because it was much more slippery than the stock charger. When they finally got thier sh%#*t together the daytona was born...for 1970 plymouth was the nascar answer with the superbird. looks similar but no interchange in any of the parts..Just my 10 cents worth..
