i think that michelins past their dates codes are likely safer than the stock ndts that are being offered today. besides being made in factories that are 3rd world vs michelins, at 45mph tops or there abouts you are more likley to buy the farm not being able to stop because the ndt tread pattern sucks! im sure mike tire guy is technically correct, but i sometimes question that i put ndts on my command car. ill likely go 1100 16 michelins when i find some near me. how many of us are running bias plys of an indetermined age on our rigs anyway? how many of us are running single channel brakes, without changing out all the lines & all parts 100%. how many of us run no seatbelts when we know that if ejected through the windshield we will be akin to going through a meat grinder. the spec on the michelin is so overkill weight wise, i dont think you could get one hot enough to blow one out. weight and heat and underinflation are a tires biggest enemies.
