I found that the Helitool 318 Kit did a great job in setting the engine parallel to a stock T Case. Using the stock NP-200 T case and stock rear axle housing will keep you at the factory design angles, nothing has changed here. When doing a 318/360 engine swap using the Helitool Kit, the angles are already figured for you. If you add a OD after the T Case, then you have to pay attention to drive line angle as your moving back and getting closer to the Differential Pinion.

I have found in doing Cummins/Complete Driveline Swaps its easier for me to work Back to Front. The Differential Pinion Angle is controlled by the welded on spring pads. To change this factory set angle, it would require either cutting off the spring pads and rewelding them on at a new angle, or use degree caster shims to achieve a new angle greater than previous.
Using a married T case does simplify things a lot. Once I know the exact differential pinion angle, I then determine height on the front of the engine and required down angle to be exactly parallel with the differential pinion. It really works quite quickly.

But getting back to the original post, Tim did not know that the T Case mounting was loose and not in place. The OD was added to a mis aligned T case. When a new rebuilt T case was installed with proper alignment, then the OD did not match up as previously built.
