1)I use a solid core metal door as a bench.
2) Tim should stand up straight like he was told as a child.
3) For all the references to a hammer, a hammer swung that hard, is NOT a shop tool!
I should know, I've been swinging one since 1953!
A love tap hammer can be swung a few times at higher levels, but chances are there is a better choice of tools for that job.
4) the top of the WORK should be 40-42", not the top of the work bench.
5) Make ALL of you major tables the same height, that way you can easily move tools and parts from table to table with less back strain. My table saw is the same height as my work tables, for obvious reasons when moving a 4x8 sheet or making a long rip or cross cut, the benches can be pushed together as some are on rollers (lockable wheels).
