While the 540 series transmissions should all interchange, it's hard to know what exactly the differences are, such as input spline count, spline diameter and spline length. There are minor differences between the ferd, gm and Dodge versions. The cases also hade slightly different bolt patterns depending upon application.
Tape measure, camera and time comparing the units side by side should give you the answers.
