I used POR engine enamel after degreasing and applying POR Metal Ready. Afterwards, I learned I probably should have used POR-15 first and then the enamel. I wasn't sure if POR-15 would stand up to the heat but apparently it does. The bellhousing is POR-15. Since these photos I've painted and installed the manifolds, I used POR-20 which is high temp paint. I also painted the alternator, coil, breather, etc. with POR-15 and installed them since the photos.

If you have light surface rust, POR-15 first would be a good choice. It actually works better with a light film of rust than with smooth, bare metal.
