These are the procedures for the M880 using a timing light which I assume you will use.

1. If you don't have a tack, you need to connect one.

2. Start the engine and warm it to operating temperature.

3. Set the engine idle at 750 rpm.

4. Disconnect the vacuum advance hose at the distributor and plug the hose.

5. Loosen the distributor hold down arm screw just enough to move the distributor.

6. Aim the timing light at the timing plate on the timing chain cover housing. If the timing mark on the crankshaft vibration dampener is not alined with the 2 degrees before "0" mark on the plate, rotate the distributor until the marks are alined.

7. Retighten the distributor plate screw and recheck timing.

8. Reconnect the vacuum advance hose to the distributor.

9. Accelerate the engine. The timing should advance, if not, check hose for cranks or replace the vacuum advance unit as needed. The Chrysler Part# for the advance is - 3656677. NAPA can cross reference it to an Eclin replacement part.

Regardless of any stickers that may indicate a different timing setting, always set the M880 to 2 degrees Before Top Dead-center.

If you need anything else, let us know.
