The following is answers to your questions from the PPG "P" Sheet

Compatible Substrate;
MP-170 Epoxy Primer ( This is what I use on all my trucks as Base)

Finish = Satin ( Semi Gloss )

Dry Times;
RTS (ready to shoot) out of can
Touch 15-30 min
Handle 1 hr
Dry 10 hrs
Recoat Before 6 hours or after 30 hours to 4 days

Dry Times with MMA 531 Hardener 16:1 Mix
To Touch 2 hours
To Handle 3 hours
Dry 10 hours
Recoat 3hrs to 4 days

Description;
"MOA is a fast drying, modified alkyd enamel topcoat designed for use in manufacturing and industrial applications. MOA can be used with or without hardener"

I shot my Bumblebee frame and undercarriage in 2000. When all the road dirt is washed off the MOA finish is still perfect. It has lost a little of the Semi Gloss, but is not Flat by any means. My Carryall shot in 2003 bears the same results. My M37 not being exposed yet to the perils of the road grime is still Semi Gloss once the shop dirt is blown off.

With Hardener, this stuff is tough. Even with hammer hits, I dont see chipping. I have had to blast some parts in my blast cabinet with Black Beauty, that were previously shot with MOA. The MOA took a beating from the black beauty blast before it started to come off, it was not quick.

I will never use anything but MOA on my frames and all parts exposed to road grime/slop. I even shoot the underside of the fenders with MOA. Once I have blasted the parts to be shot
bright and shiny, the first thing I do is apply PickleX-20, then when dry, shoot PPG MP-170 Epoxy Primer then the MOA. Since this is all under chassis parts, I see no need to shoot a 2K surfacer prior to MOA. However, the P Sheet does list PPG MP-182, 2K Urethane Surfacer as a compatible substrate if you want a perfect smooth finish. Prep is EVERYTHING, get the parts bright and shiny and you will have a job that will outlast you and the next owners also. Also MOA can be brushed or sprayed.
