My Boy Scout Troop has an 85 Dodge 15 passenger van that has succumbed to the evil rust. It is still in great shape mechanically. It starts well at all temps, runs strong. It never gave us a minutes problem in the 3 or so years that we had it. It would be a great candidate for an engine swap. It is hooked to an automatic transmission.
$300 gets as much of the van as you want, from the engine to the entire van. What ever you dont want is going to the crushers.
