Thiry two years ago in Viet Nam I saw C-600 Dodges , Fargos and DeSotos all identical except the letters on the hood . These trucks were owned by Bekins Van Lines and I'm sure were hired by Uncle Sugar .They sported Perkins engines and 540NP trans with an Eaton 2-speed . I found out that Dodges were mainly for U.S. and other countries that were non metric ,Fargos made mainly for Canadians and Fargos were metric .At least this is the way that it was explained to me. Their inter-city buses were made on what appeared to be Dodge Motorhome Chassis complete with Dodge grills .I also saw a 57 chevy 210 4-door,a Corvair and many Citrons (sp), Renault cars and trucks . Phillipinos drove what I later found to be M601s and not something of their own invention. Koreans drove a Japanese built M37 derivative . Also saw operational CCKWs from WW-2 . We were way out in the courtry 98% of the time and not near a full time mechanic which was a necessity if you had a M715 . If this was the case they gave you a M37 .
