Third member swap?? offset to center,FIT?

Well,, i just pulled the third member out of the rear of the 1950 PW,, WOW, i knew i was in trouble when, i cracked the case and no LUBE came out,, the pinion was wobbling anyway,, Well,, NO lube, and a pile of rust, dust, the ring looks good, and both axle threads ends good, also,
My question is,, can i put a offset, third member, in a centered, housing?
And how much will I have to set it up,, is there a section on this site to rebuild/set up the rear? ( i think the rear is coming out of a WWII truck, thanks jc
