starter pedal help

I installed a new (repro) starter pedal from midwest military in my 3/4 command car. the part and the fit is perfect. it is amazing how bad the old one was and i suspect most of us are driving around with worn starter shafts and bushings. the bad news is that after i installed it and was adjusting the nuts from inside the cab, the pin fell out and i cant find it. does anyone have one or a source for that pin? its the one that goes through the ears of the starter lever and connects to the steering rod. my hardware store had nothing close. thanks, mannyc
